- Parliament Building (Országház) from Kossuth Lajos Square (Tér) and Szabadság Tér (Libery Square) nearby
- Travel on Metro Line 1 (M1 – yellow) as the oldest underground line in continental Europe
- Andrássy Avenue (út) with Heroes Square (Hősök Tere) and Vajdahunyad Castle (vár)
- Walk from Oktogon station pasing Opera House toward St Stephans Cathedral (Szent István Bazilika) along Zrinyi utca crossing Chain Bridge (Széchenyi Lánchíd) then take the Funicular up to Buda Castle
- Walk around Buda Castle then walk to Fisherman’s Bastion (Halászbástya) near Mathias Church (Mátyás Templom) then take the bus back to Deák Square (tér)
- From Deák Square walk along pedestrian streets Deák Ferenc street (utca) also called Fashion street towards Vörösmarty Square (tér) then Vigadó Square (tér) by the Danube and then walk all the way along Váci utca (street) till you reach the Grand Market Hall (Nagy Vásárcsarnok) where you can have a stroll around the stalls and souvenir shops and have lunch in Wooden Spoon Restaurant (Fakanál étterem)
Things to Do:
- Take an hour long boat trip from Vigadó station to see the city from the best view possible
- Széchenyi Bath (fürdő) for the real Budapest bath experience
- Palatinus Lido (strand) on hot summer days on Margaret Island (Margit sziget) or alternatively water lovers should go to Aquaworld waterpark for a full day treat
- Rent a Bringóhintó (4-wheel bicycle) and cycle around Margaret Island (Margit sziget)
- Don’t miss all you can eat restaurant “Trófea Király utca” for a fantastic meal – need to book or alternatively pop into Menza or any of dozens of restaurant in Liszt Ferenc Square (tér)
- For the ultimate Ruin Pub experience don’t miss Szimpla Garden (Szimpla Kert)
- Choose one or two of the numerous fantastic museum basd on your interest (National Gallery, Ethnographic Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Hospital in the Rock, Parliament Building or cool down in one of the fantastic caves of Buda
- Take a speed boat trip on the Danbube to Szentendre a tiny charming cobbled street village
