Shopping Centers in Budapest
There are already numerous huge shopping malls in Budapest and even in the last year a new one was opened and one is still under construction. It is like Budapest being the capital of shopping centers. The first mall was opened in the mid 1990-s and since then, at least one new were opened per year. The city’s commerce hasn’t taken the changes very well. Smaller shops around had to close down their business obviously as shoppers had changed their ways of shopping. These malls created a lifestyle for many people especially for youngs. It is fun for them just to hang around in the huge buildings and spend their time after school, pop into one of the fast food restaurants or just sit in the cinema for a Hollywood movie. |
Within these centers every service is available from fitness centers to clothing, supermarkets to electronics and they are open every day from around 10 am until 8 pm or even later. Everyone has their personal favourite mall, and they are popular meeting places, as well. The biggest one is Westend City Center, while Mammut or Allee probably represent the highest quality.
